303
- 303 is not to be confused with the assrapingly retarded Boulder wigger musical performing group 3OH!3 or the Denver based snowboard company 303 Boards.
303 is the telephone area code for parts of Colorado and also the designation for a group of hackers, computer security enthusiasts, ham radio hacks, underground scientists, malingerers, and croquet champions who also live in the greater Denver metro area. 303 members, or "303ers" as they are sometimes called, are generally known for acts of extreme mischief, drinking more than Jesus wants them to, and occasionally exerting undue influence on White House Foreign Policy.

History
303 as we know it today is made up of folks from many past groups including TNo, TACD, SOB, PLA and the so-called 720. After most (and eventually all) of these groups disbanded, many banded together in a short lived group called "Core" which quickly became the modern 303.
Geography
303 has friends and "members" all over the country as well in places like Texas, California, Utah, New York, Nevada, Florida and more. Most of the time, even though members move away from Denver, they are always 303.
Strange Sightings of the Number 303
Many people in 303 find it amusing that the number itself shows up in some films, TV shows and music. A few examples are:
- Trinity is accosted by police in room 303 in the begining of "The Matrix", the same room wherein Neo is later shot.
- The fictional group of elite soldiers in the film "Wag The Dog" was "the 303".
Public Events
There are several events that the 303 makes open to the public on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis. Among these are 2601, a variation on a traditional 2600 meeting and the (in)famous 303 party at DEFCON.
303 Trivia
- 303 hosts full-blown security conferences in adjacent foreign countries, restricting registration to existing and prospective members only.
- It has been confirmed that one young 303er at a party recently had 1) coke, 2) a hooker, and 3) an empty room, and still couldn't seal the deal.
- One 303 member wrote the first hacking FAQ in the early 90s for the #hack IRC channel and is now the owner if a successful technical consulting agency.
- At one time three individuals interested in 303 membership were informed, quite seriously, that admission into 303 required submission to a bukkake ritual. One of them agreed.
- It is rumored that one young member of 303 was raided by the police after demanding customer support from the administrator of a system which he'd just compromised, giving his user name as "root."
- The most notable bust was after compromise of a system at a community college via dialup, on which the existing broken routing was configured to live on the internet properly, and used by a younger member to send tsunami floods on IRC. The intruders were tracked by using telco tracp and trace methods, since diverters weren't being used due to the low importance of the target and assumed incompetence of the admins.
